Advice to Johnny and Ponyboy (Chapter 5)
In Chapter 5, Pony and Johnny are forced to hide in the church after Bob's murder. What advice would you give them? Should they continue to hide, or maybe turn themselves in?
I think Pony and Johnny should turn themselves in because what's the fun in always hiding and pretending to be someone else? Even though Johnny did kill Bob, he could explain to the cops he did it in self-defence because Bob and his friends were hurting Pony and could have drowned him. Also, they have family back home. Darry and Sodapop are probably worried about Pony, and Johnny's parents might or might not care but he still has the gang who treat him like family. it is hard for Dallas too because he knows where they are and he has to lie and sneak around to meet them. If they turn themselves in, Johnny would most likely get charged for killing someone but the police won't put them in jail because it was self-defence. If they do that they could come home and not have to hide in that old church in the country.
Anyways, like I said its better to come out clean instead of hiding forever.
