Example 1
Descripition of Artifact:
This is a picture from the book trilogy "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. In "The Hunger Games", there are many examples of literary terms but one big literary term is conflict.
Learning Outcomes/Specific Skills that Artifact Demonstrates:
Two types of Conflict in the book are:
- Person VS Person: there is Person VS Person conflict when Katniss is fighting the other tributes in the arena.
- Person VS Society: Katniss, along with many other Panem citzens, is against the Capitol because they make kids fight against eachother until one person remains ALIVE. Katniss also shows rebellious against the Capitol when she hunts in the forbidden forest with her hunting partner, Gale. Also in the arena when Katniss and Peeta were the last 2 remaining and Katniss threatned the Capitol that she would eat poisonous berries with Peeta so that there would be no winner which is what the Capitol does NOT want.
Challenges or Areas for Continued Learning: Conflict was a literary term that I was having trouble with and this book demostrates many types of conflicts.

This quote means reading does actually help us and it isn't just a bunch of words on a page. Reading can help improve our writing skills and improve our vocabulary. It can also help us develop insipiration and creativity to do something with the information they give us in the story.
